UK School Partnerships
Ensuring that young people learn and practise ethical change making is vital for a better tomorrow.
Bringing about Change is a complex issue that requires collaboration, cultural understanding, inclusivity, patience, understanding, willingness, opportunity and passion. That is why we work in close collaboration with all our partners, why we employ adaptive management techniques and why we monitor progress every step of the way.
We are passionate about building partnerships that can support change where our partners play a vital role enabling change to happen so that we are all part of creating a better tomorrow.
We INSPIRE YOUNG PEOPLE to learn about and understand the complexities of life in low-income countries.
We believe that experiencing life in a ‘different bubble’ is vital for young people whose life experiences are mostly sheltered from the realities that other people face on a daily basis. We believe in doing volun-tourism properly, with respect for the host community.
We make YOUNG PEOPLE TO ENGAGE with the community and learn from them about their lives, their hopes and aspirations. in this way we learn how we are all the same. We also want the community to learn about the young people and what they think.
We ensure that YOUNG PEOPLE DELIVER when they visit us. Our trips are not holidays, students are expected to work hard and play hard and make the most of the fantastic opportunity a working visit can being to them. Their work will impact on the school and community, but it will also change them to being more appreciative of their lives.
“I was also greatly impressed by the collective and mutually responsible ethos that underpins the work of the LTT (now Mikuyu Tanzania).
The fact that communities have to exhibit a social and fiscal contribution to the projects gives the work LTT does a healthy chance of having an impact over generations rather than just in the short term.”
